What can ClearCorrect® fix?

invisalign before after

Crowding

Your teeth are too close together and have abnormal positions such as overlapping, displacement in various directions, or twisted appearance. Crowded teeth are harder to keep clean, and can create detrimental relationships when biting and chewing.

invisalign before after

Spacing

When you have spaces between one or several sets of teeth. When teeth are spaced out, there’s a greater risk that they’ll wobble or break, and food can get stuck in spaces and begin to rot your teeth and gums.

invisalign before after

Deep Bite

Your top front teeth drastically overlap your bottom front teeth. A deep bite usually causes inefficient biting and chewing, which can lead to tooth and jaw damage.

invisalign before after

Overjet

Your top teeth protrude too far beyond your bottom front teeth. Excessive overjet makes it harder to bite and chew food, and, as with a lot of misaligned teeth, it can lead to severe oral health problems, like tooth fractures and bone loss.

invisalign before after

Cross Bite

When you bite, your upper teeth fall inside your bottom teeth, which is opposite of how it should be. Typically, all of your chewing and biting force is transferred to the wrong surfaces at the wrong angles. You could start to notice gum recession, fractured teeth, worn spots on your teeth, and more.

invisalign before after

Open Bite

When you bite down, your back teeth are touching while your front teeth are not, creating an open space when you smile. An open bite can make it difficult to bite into foods, and can place irregular pressure on your jaw joint and individual teeth, which can lead to gum recession, bone loss, and worn-down teeth.

invisalign before after

Midline Shift

The center point of your top front teeth does not align with the center point of your bottom front teeth. This may mean your teeth are not coming together properly, creating stress points where there shouldn't be any, or making your teeth harder to clean.

invisalign before after

Edge to Edge

The edges of your top front teeth collide with the edges of your bottom front teeth. Edge-to-edge occlusion puts a lot of stress on the most fragile parts of your teeth. The tips of your incisors are very susceptible to trauma like this, and can very quickly show signs of wear and/or chipping.

FAQs

1. How does ClearCorrect® work?

When you come to see us for your ClearCorrect® consultation, we will make an impression and take X-rays of your teeth to determine the severity of your problem.

We will then send the impression and X-rays, along with your dental records, to a dental laboratory where a 3D model of your teeth is created.

We will then map out a complete treatment plan showing the gradual realignment that will reposition the teeth from their current position to where they will be when the treatment is complete.

2. What is the treatment process?

ClearCorrect® aligner treatment involves four phases of therapy. Each of the phases requires using a new set of aligners that are worn for three weeks. After wearing each aligner set, the results will be noticeable as the teeth begin slowly adjusting and aligning to the desired positions.

You will be required to make periodic checkups with your dentist so your progress can be evaluated and you can be given the next set of aligners. This sequence will continue until the teeth have reached the desired positions.

3. How long does treatment last?

The treatment time for each patient depends on the severity of your condition, but it generally takes anywhere from one to two years.

4. Will wearing the ClearCorrect®aligners hurt?

Most patients experience some sensitivity or tenderness for the first few days of wearing their new aligners. However, the more you wear the aligner the more comfortable they become. In some cases, sores and irritation are possible but really do not occur that often.

ClearCorrect® aligners can also temporarily affect your speech. Most people adapt quickly to wearing the aligners and it is rare that your speech will be impaired for an extended period of time.

5. How long do I have to wear the aligners?

ClearCorrect® aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours a day. They should only be removed when you want to eat and brush your teeth.

If they are not worn for 22 hours every day, the corrective process can be halted and begin to reverse within a few hours.

6. How do I keep the ClearCorrect® aligners clean?

ClearCorrect® aligners are removable, which makes them easy to clean. They can be cleaned by rinsing them with warm water and soap before putting them back in the mouth.

To avoid tooth decay, periodontal disease, staining the teeth or inflammation of the gums, you are advised to practice proper oral hygiene while undergoing treatment.

7. Do I have to wear a retainer after treatment is complete?

Yes, you will have to wear retainers after your treatment is complete to prevent the teeth from moving back into their previous positions.

The length of time you have to wear your retainer will be determined by your dentist.

8. How is ClearCorrect® different from Invisalign?

ClearCorrect® aligners use plastic materials, but Invisalign® uses patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrak.

Both ClearCorrect® and Invisalign® use 3D printing technology to get impressions of teeth.

9. Can you eat with ClearCorrect®?

ClearCorrect® aligners are removeable, so you can eat, drink, and take care of your teeth as you normally would.

In fact, you can wear them or remove them as you see fit during any of your daily activities with no added risk of irritation or injury.

10. How much do ClearCorrect® aligners cost?

ClearCorrect® uses advanced technology to create a series of aligners that gradually shift your teeth into their desired positions.

The total cost for ClearCorrect aligners can vary widely but typically falls between $2,000 and $8,000.

11. Can I drink coffee with ClearCorrect®?

We don’t recommend it. Hot liquids can distort the material.

Coffee and tea are also likely to stain the aligners, and sugar can get trapped between the teeth and the aligners.
